Well to be honest i was a little torn as to the purchase of these filters.Not because of the seller, but the reviews as to the actual fit to my camera.The stink of it was the camera lens with the filter installed was an obstruction when the lens retracted causing an error .
Well my filter kit arrived and I immediately got right to it. I installed the adapter ring and turned the camera on to zoom in and out to make sure there were no errors. Then i turned it off to install the UV filter. I have taken about 1600 pictures so far and i am truly impressed.These look like professional pictures! Magazine worthy.All my friends have gone from .."thats nice" to "you took that"? I cant say enough. I am having more fun because the quality is so much better

I just got a p80 for my kid..it's Christmas morning, got the adapter eveybody speaks of, yadayada.....forget it, folks. It will NOT work!!!! Only thing that would possibly work is a 38mm filter [hard to get, expensive.] End of story. Why Nikon put this camera out there with this flaw is beyond me. The lens will NOT retract properly when adapter is attached and gives you an error. Forget it all together, don't buy these.

The optical quality of the filter glass and the machined finishes are superb. However, there is a problem with fit. To use this product, an adapter is needed (and provided by Opteka) to convert the 38-mm camera lense to a 52-mm filter part. When the adapter is screwed into the camera lense, even for a barely snug fit, the camera cannot fully retract its lense during shut off. In other words, the lense is forced by the adapter to stick out slightly and the camera senses this as not fully retracted and won't shut off. I worked around this by placing a very thin rubber band, used like an o-ring, around the camera's lense barrel to hold the adapter out a slight amount. It's a bit clumsy, but works. And just barely works. The second problem is when the UV filter and any other lense are used, the combination of adapter, UV, and extra filter make it so that the image picks up the sides of the filter mounts (the image looks like it's shot through a barrel). So, the group at Opteka haven't solved the all the problem for the Nikon P80 yet. You need to be a bit mechanically dexterous to get the adapter to function with the camera, but it can be done. I would recommend waiting for a better solution. With the popularity of the P80, I would hope Opteka would respond soon.

Very nice product and it fits with camera lens perfectly but I wish they had a filter cover too. Because the lens cover came with camera doesn't fit with the UV filter. I think this is a must have item for those who have a same camera with mine.(Nikon Coolpix P80)
